I am the epitome of anxious cat mom and I cannot recommend VCA Waipahu highly enough! Dr. Hester, Linda, Kaylen and the entire team, including the veterinary technicians (I wish I remembered everyone’s name!) and front office staff, have been nothing short of exceptional. Finding a truly cat friendly vet has been such a relief! We adopted a very sick kitten and also have an older cat who struggles with anxiety and respiratory issues. From our very first visit, Dr. Hester and the staff made us feel secure in that we were getting the best care for our cats. They took the time to listen to all of our concerns and provided tailored care for both of our cats. Our kitties are MUCH better now, but even so Dr Hester and the team are so responsive and understanding for any health concerns we have. They treat not just our kitten, but our anxious older (big and kind of mean) cat with such kindness and understanding. Their ability to handle our shy cats with such care and professionalism is truly commendable. The staff always makes us feel heard and comfortable, and their dedication to their patients is evident. What honestly wonderful people, everyone from the front desk, to the technicians, and the doctors were so kind and accommodating getting all three of my pets in last minute. Dr. Tokayama did a great job explaining her recommendations and caring for them all. My dog is very anxious at the vet and honestly this was the most “relaxed” he’s been in a while. I haven’t had such a great vet experience in a while, and am honestly so grateful for the level of care my animals received. Thank you!

Dr.Chen is amazing ! I take both my dog (Koa) and my cat (Rora) to Dr. Chen and she has been nothing shy of amazing, assuring and supportive. Rora was a stray cat we found on the street and koa was also a stray but adopted through HHC. Needless to say with koa she’s a perfectly happy healthy dog even through our eye puss troubles and Roras blood work false alarms they are both happy and healthy! Dr.Chen continues to check on our stronger than nails cat Rora after her spayed where she wouldn’t keep still, to make sure the process was easier for Rora and us. Highly recommend our favorite vet…. Dr.Chen !

VCA Waipahu is the best veterinarian clinic in Oahu. They have the BEST people that work here. Dr. Hester is friendly, knowledgeable, professional, ethical, and genuinely cares for your fur babies. Office manager Raina, the front desk staff, and clinical assistants are all very caring and work hard to accommodate your needs. Coming to this clinic is well worth it for me. They take excellent care of my three kiTs. Thank you for being in the area and for the wonderful services you provide for my family and the community.
